Heavy Rainfall in India.
India Meteorological Department or the Weather Department has warned of heavy rainfall at isolated places in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and West Bengal. An orange alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in remote areas of Uttarakhand. Seventy-six person have lost their lives since the onset of the Monsoon in the state of 'Mumbai'. This also affected natural calamities such as lightning strikes, landslides, treefalls, floods, structure collapse, etc. According to the SDM report, so far 839 houses have been damaged while over 4916 people have been shifted to safe places as heavy rain is continuously falling in most parts of the states. Parshuram Ghat a section of the Mumbai-Goa Highway in Ratnagiri District has closed till12 July. The state government has provided 13 National Disaster Relief Force teams across the state including two in, Mumbai at Ghatkopar and Kanjumarg.
